About this role

A Wells Advisor is an experienced professional engaged by Scruples Resources in Lagos to mentor drilling and completion engineers and oversee drilling programmes to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and expertise in drilling, well design, and related operations. It is a consultancy position in Lagos serving clients across the Nigerian economy.

What you would do

• Mentor less‑experienced drilling and completion engineers.
• Oversee drilling programmes and ensure consistency across multiple rig lines.
• Interface with Affiliate/Business Unit on logistics, environmental, regulatory, procurement and cost stewardship activities.
• Develop and lead longer-term team performance improvement initiatives and engineering studies.
• Review and respond to vendor clarifications, FATs and package acceptance, and review drawings and specifications.
• Address human factors engineering and safety of personnel and equipment in coordination with Topsides and/or O&M contractor.

• Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Civil preferred).
• Advanced analytical and computing skills.
• Experience in construction site management, preferably familiar with drilling well site design.
• Extensive experience in drilling rig development including FEED, detail design, construction and commissioning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiar with applicable industry codes and offshore oil and gas regulations.
