Well Planning Engineer
About this role
A Well Planning Engineer is needed to support drilling, completion and intervention planning in an upstream oil and gas setting. The role targets candidates with substantial well planning experience who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure safe, efficient well execution in Lagos.
What you would do
- Develop well concepts, basis of design and detailed well plans for drilling, completion and intervention activities
- Integrate subsurface targets, trajectories, casing designs, completion needs and logistics with execution constraints
- Prepare schedules, cost estimates, risk registers, execution strategies and readiness plans
- Coordinate multidisciplinary well planning reviews, workshops and assurance activities
- Contribute technical inputs for regulatory submissions, procurement specs, tender documents and contracting
- Review deliverables to ensure designs meet engineering standards and operational requirements
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8 to 12 years in oil and gas with upstream exposure
- Proven experience in well planning, design, drilling, completion or intervention engineering
- Demonstrable experience in upstream well planning and operations environments
- Strong knowledge of well engineering principles, controls and documentation
- IWCF/IADC certification desirable or professional engineering registration desirable
