Well Operations Technician
About this role
The Well Operations Technician will operate, monitor and support maintenance of producing wells and associated wellhead systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient production, while maintaining well integrity and compliance with operating procedures in WAEP's Lagos, Nigeria operations. The role is intended for professionals with strong upstream production and well operations experience, preferably offshore.
What you would do
- Operate and monitor wellheads, Christmas trees, flowlines and related production equipment.
- Perform routine wellhead inspections, pressure monitoring, valve function checks and leak detection.
- Support well start-up, shut-in, reinstatement, testing and production optimisation activities.
- Assist with well intervention, integrity remediation and pressure-testing activities per approved procedures.
- Monitor annulus pressures and abnormal well conditions, and escalate deviations promptly.
- Support emergency shutdown testing and the interfaces of hydraulic/pneumatic well control systems (SSV/SCSSV) as required.
What they are asking for
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Production Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 8-12 years' relevant upstream production/well operations experience, preferably offshore.
- Valid offshore medical certificate.
- BOSIET/HUET certification.
- Relevant well-control and H2S certifications.
