About this role
Proforce Industries Limited is recruiting a Welder for its Ogun production facility. The role involves fabricating, joining, and assembling structural vehicle components, chassis, armored plating and specialized frames to meet military-grade and automotive standards. The job targets applicants with hands-on welding experience in structural fabrication, automotive or defense assembly, and who can read engineering drawings and welding symbols. The company operates in the automotive and defence manufacturing sector and focuses on armored and protective mobility products for government, corporate, diplomatic, and private clients in Nigeria and Africa. The position is full-time and based in Ode Remo, Ogun State.
What you would do
- Perform MIG, TIG, SMAW welding on structural steel, aluminum, armored plating, and heavy sheet metal.
- Fit, align, tack-weld, and fully assemble chassis frameworks and vehicle body structures.
- Read and implement work from technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Inspect welds for quality, integrity, penetration, and defects.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment and safety gear.
- Gouge, grind, and re-weld to fix defects identified in quality checks.
What they are asking for
- NABTEB, Trade Test Class 1, OND or HND/BSc in Welding Engineering, Fabrication Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy.
- Professional welding certification (e.g., AWS, CWB) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on welding experience in structural fabrication, automotive manufacturing, heavy machinery, or defence Assembly line operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Proficiency in flame/plasma cutting and strong commitment to workshop safety.
- Knowledge of MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, SMAW welding processes and international codes.
- Understanding of metallurgy, weldability, and joint behavior under stress.
- Basic knowledge of NDT methods and quality assurance.
