Water and Irrigation Engineer
About this role
Water and Irrigation Engineer needed for Kano-based projects with travel to site locations. Role focuses on designing, implementing and managing irrigation and water infrastructure for agricultural development across nationwide initiatives.
What you would do
- Lead planning, execution and management of irrigation and water infrastructure projects
- Design concepts, hydraulic planning and interpretation of irrigation drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with project teams on agricultural infrastructure development
- Ensure efficient water management and sustainability practices
- Monitor irrigation performance and propose improvements
- Coordinate installation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Irrigation, Civil or Water/Environmental Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in irrigation, hydraulic engineering or agricultural water management projects
- Proficiency in irrigation and hydraulic engineering software (EPANET, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, IrriCAD, GIS)
- Strong technical, analytical and project management skills
- Experience with irrigation systems (sprinkler, drip, centre pivot, surface)
- Professional certification or COREN registration is an added advantage
