Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
About this role
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator will manage and monitor the plant’s treatment processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and perform maintenance and testing. The role is for qualified candidates with experience in wastewater operations and related technical fields, based in Lagos area.
What you would do
- Inspect treatment processes to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor and record flow rates, chemical usage, and system data
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
- Operate and monitor plant equipment including pumps, valves, filters and control panels
- Maintain logs, reports and operational records
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and respond to emergencies and alarms
What they are asking for
- OND/ HND/ BSc in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
- Ability to operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
- Relevant certification in wastewater treatment operations is an added advantage
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes (biological treatment, filtration, sludge handling)
- Good health, safety and environmental compliance awareness
