Visual Art and CCA Teacher
About this role
Blooms Academy in Abuja seeks a full‑time Visual Arts and CCA teacher. The school offers Nigerian and British curricula and operates from Suncity Estate, Abuja. The role involves delivering art and CCA lessons, assessing student work, and supporting holistic learner development, with collaboration across staff and parents. The candidate should have a relevant teaching qualification and strong practical art skills, with TRCN registration or eligibility. The position offers a monthly salary of N160,000 to N180,000.
What you would do
- Deliver art and CCA lessons aligned with Nigerian and British curriculum requirements.
- Assess and document learners’ progress and creativity using appropriate methods.
- Plan schemes of work, lesson plans, materials, activities, and assessments.
- Differentiate instruction for diverse abilities and learning needs.
- Maintain learner portfolios and track progress each term.
- Organise displays, exhibitions, and school events featuring student artwork.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, Heads of Department, and leadership.
- Incorporate project-based learning and digital tools where suitable.
- Ensure safe storage and use of art materials and equipment.
- Support inclusive teaching and participate in school meetings and training.

- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Creative Arts Education, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
- Proficiency in classroom management, lesson planning, assessment, and use of instructional resources.
- Strong communication, organisation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian Art and Cultural & Creative Arts curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Ability to develop engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Commitment to safeguarding, professional ethics, and continuous professional development.
- Experience with displaying student art and organising projects or exhibitions (advantage).
- PGDE or NCE recognised qualification is an added advantage when applicable.
