Treasury Accountant
About this role
A Treasury Accountant role in a fintech/neo-banking setting, responsible for daily accounting and financial control as well as treasury, FX, cross-border payments and reconciliation. The role works closely with management, operations, payments, compliance, risk, technology and banking partners to ensure accuracy, controls and regulatory compliance. Suitable for professionals with experience in FinTech or regulated financial services and cross-border transactions.
What you would do
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial control, oversee the general ledger and posting of transactions
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions and adjustments; oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close; prepare financial statements
- Oversee cross-border payment accounting and reconcile records across internal systems, banks and partners; monitor multi-currency settlements
- Manage day-to-day treasury operations, cash positions and cash flow forecasting; coordinate fund movements across bank and payment accounts
- Monitor FX positions, rates and profitability; reconcile FX transactions and report gains/losses; support hedging strategies
- Maintain relationships with banks and payment partners; monitor balances and investigate discrepancies; support onboarding and due diligence of new partners
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ICAN/ACCA/CPA/CIMA)
- 3–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, financial control or treasury
- 3–5 years in a senior finance/controller or treasury role
- Experience in FinTech, banking, payments, remittance, digital banking or other regulated financial institution
- Strong experience in cross-border payments and/or international transactions
