About this role
AIDHealth Inc. seeks a Translation & Language QA Lead (remote, part-time consultant) to oversee Hausa–English translation workflows, QA reviews and culturally informed transliteration for health-related content. The role targets native Hausa speakers with strong English writing and substantial Hausa–English translation experience, able to meet tight deadlines.
What you would do
- Maintain the bilingual Hausa–English project termbase.
- Review quotes in deliverables for accuracy, tone and register.
- Perform blind back-translation on sample quotes and priority alerts to 95% meaning equivalence.
- Transliterate Ajami content into Boko before translation and add cultural notes.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, Hausa Studies or related field.
- At least 5 years of professional Hausa–English translation experience.
- Native Hausa speaker with excellent written English.
- Prefer Ajami literacy and experience translating gender, health or religious content.
