Trades Officer

About this role

A full-time Trades Officer role based in Abuja, supporting the Trades Manager with day-to-day operations of the Group Trade Desk, including trade execution, sourcing, and logistics to facilitate domestic and international trading activities for Kursi Group. The position targets individuals with experience in import/export, trading, procurement, or logistics and strong coordination with Finance, Operations and suppliers.

What you would do

• Assist with contract preparation, negotiations and tracking of terms, deliveries and renewals
• Follow up on offtake enquiries, prepare quotations and trade documentation
• Support execution of trading strategies, pricing models and commercial plans
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure correct classification, valuation and duty payments
• Maintain audit-ready shipment records from contract to delivery and payment
• Plan and coordinate import/export shipments, obtain necessary permits and ensure regulatory compliance

• Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in trading, supply chain, procurement, logistics or related fields
• Hands-on experience in import/export operations or international trade logistics (advantage)
• Strong organisational, negotiation and relationship management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting
• Good communication, analytical and market research abilities
