Tower Crane Operators

A full-time Tower Crane Operator is sought for construction projects in Uyo, Akwa Ibom. The role requires extensive experience operating tower cranes on large-scale sites, along with strong health, safety and environmental compliance. The operator will lift, move and position materials, coordinate with lifting teams, and ensure safe crane operation per plans and procedures. What you would do

• Carry out pre-operational inspections and functional checks of the crane and safety devices.
• Coordinate lifts with riggers, banksmen, signalers and lifting supervisors using approved signals or radio.
• Avoid operating defective equipment or lifts without proper authorization and safety controls.
• Keep the crane cab and operating area clean, safe and orderly.
• Work with site engineers and other personnel to support project execution.
• Safely operate the crane to lift, move and position building materials and components.
• Secure the crane and place it out of service as required by weather or end of operations.
• Verify load weights, capacity, load charts, working radius and crane limitations before lifts.
• Maintain records of inspections, operating hours and defects.
• Report any faults, abnormal noises or unsafe conditions immediately.

• Valid tower crane operator certification or recognised competence.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with lifting teams and site personnel.
• Physical and medical fitness for roles including working at height.
• Familiarity with site safety procedures, lifting plans, hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Experience on high-rise or large commercial projects is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven tower crane operating experience on major projects.
• Knowledge of crane load charts, lifting capacities, working radii and rigging principles.
• Relevant training in crane or heavy equipment operation.
