Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a TIG Welder for its Lagos site, based in the Fertilizer plant’s Maintenance department. What you would do
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, aluminum and other metals according to procedures and quality specs.
- Fabricate, modify and repair piping systems, tanks, vessels, structural components and mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols and fabrication sketches.
- Prepare joints, bevels and surfaces for welding and ensure proper fit-up.
- Inspect welds for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment, consumables and associated tools.
- Ensure adherence to safety requirements including PTW, LOTO and hot work procedures.
What they are asking for
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding and Fabrication Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related technical discipline, or Trade Test Grades I, II and III.
- Professional certification in TIG welding and related practices is an added advantage.
- Valid Hot Work Safety Training certification.
- Minimum of three years of industrial experience in TIG welding, fabrication and plant maintenance in heavy industrial environments.
- Experience with stainless steel pipe welding, equipment repair and industrial fabrication.
- Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving and safety focus.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols; knowledge of WPS and welding standards.
- Willingness to work shifts and support plant shutdowns when required.
