Terminal Clerk and Terminal Planner
About this role
A terminal clerk and planner role based in Lagos for a firm focused on management consultancy, HR performance management, training and recruitment. The position involves organising and tracking container movements and coordinating truck and container operations within the terminal.
What you would do
- Plan and coordinate movement and positioning of containers in the terminal
- Coordinate daily truck and container movements according to operational needs
- Monitor yard activities, container flow and truck turnaround times
- Coordinate with terminal operations teams, drivers and equipment operators to ensure efficient movement
- Identify delays or operational issues and escalate as needed
- Record and update container and truck movement information and prepare daily operational reports
What they are asking for
- Degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in terminal, shipping, port, transport or container operations
- Experience in container terminal operations preferred
- Experience with container documentation and truck movement records an advantage
- Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills
- Strong documentation, computer and record-keeping skills
