Tax Analyst
About this role
A Tax Analyst role based in Lagos supporting the DSR Apapa tax function. The role involves computing and filing VAT and WHT, handling staff and directors’ tax matters, tracking WHT receivables, and providing accounting support using SAP.
What you would do
- Compute monthly VAT and WHT liabilities and returns for DSR Apapa
- Prepare and file VAT and WHT returns within regulatory deadlines
- Post recovered WHT journals and track WHT receivables from banks and others
- Follow up on outstanding or unremitted amounts with banks and stakeholders
- Support the Tax Officer with data for monthly tax reports for Head Office
- Maintain staff Tax Identification Numbers and assist with tax queries from staff and directors
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics or related field
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in taxation, accounting or finance
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation and compliance processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems an advantage
- Professional qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, CITN or equivalent an advantage
