Sustainability Manager, Compliance & Reporting
About this role
The role oversees sustainability compliance and reporting for Oando PLC and its subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with the Group ESG Strategy Framework, regulatory requirements and international ESG standards. It supports the Board of Directors and other stakeholders by delivering transparent, accurate and timely ESG performance data.
What you would do
- Advise the Chairman and Board on ESG duties to ensure adherence to the Group ESG Strategy Framework and applicable laws and policies.
- Lead the execution of the Group's ESG strategy and embed sustainability principles in board decisions and business processes.
- Develop, interpret and monitor ESG laws, regulations and policies across jurisdictions where the Group operates.
- Design and implement ESG reporting templates and dashboards and monitor KPIs for real-time visibility of ESG performance.
- Draft and deliver ESG and compliance reports, including annual sustainability reports, and oversee ESG-related financial reports and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functional ESG objectives, manage regulator relations, data quality controls, audit liaison, and lead the ESG team and projects.
What they are asking for
- A first degree in Law, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 12-14 years post-qualification experience in a large private company, public limited company or professional firm with significant exposure to ESG compliance and reporting.
- Experience with sustainability and ESG compliance frameworks, including global standards and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects under high-pressure situations, including compliance reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in ESG reporting using GRI, SASB or IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
- Experience developing and implementing ESG strategies within a corporate environment, including engagement with senior stakeholders and regulators.
