Survey Officer
About this role
ElsaDave Consulting Limited is seeking a Survey and GIS Mapping Officer in Lagos. The role involves acquiring, processing and analysing survey and geospatial data to produce survey plans and related deliverables, and supporting data collection for mapping initiatives across Nigerian cities. The position is full-time and based in Alausa, Lagos. The officer will work on field operations, data processing, geospatial data collection and equipment management while ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements.
What you would do
- Conduct field reconnaissance to plan data collection activities
- Carry out field surveys and collect survey and geospatial data accurately
- Complete field data acquisition within approved budgets and timelines
- Participate in geospatial data collection trips to various Nigerian cities
- Process, analyse and validate survey data to produce survey plans and deliverables
- Ensure survey outputs meet client specifications and quality standards
- Maintain records of field measurements, processed data and project documentation
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies or errors in outputs
- Ensure survey equipment is maintained, secured and accounted for
- Communicate progress and escalate issues to the Manager, Surveying and Mapping

- Knowledge of survey standards, regulations and procedures
- Ability to plan and execute field data collection
- Competence in data processing and producing deliverables to client specifications
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and resource management
- Strong record keeping and documentation skills
- Ability to work on field trips across various cities in Nigeria
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in surveying, geomatics, GIS or a related field (if stated)
- Project/task management capabilities
