Strategic Information Specialist
About this role
A state-level Strategic Information Specialist leads performance measurement, data quality, analysis and reporting for health programs in Kano, reporting to the State Program Manager with guidance from the Strategic Information Director/Advisor. The role focuses on evidence readiness, programme milestone management and data-driven improvement. It is suited for professionals with M&E/SI experience in complex health initiatives.
What you would do
- Operationalise the performance-monitoring plan, indicator reference sheets and reporting calendar
- Coordinate data collection, validation, reconciliation and submission across sites and partners
- Conduct routine data-quality assessments and track corrective actions
- Produce analyses at state, LGA, facility and partner levels for programme improvement
- Maintain milestone denominators, numerators, source references and audit-ready evidence
- Support government information systems and data-use forums and supervise SI Officers and data personnel
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Demography, Information Systems or a related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of M&E/SI experience in complex health programmes including data quality, analysis and reporting
- Advanced Excel/data-analysis capability
- Strong knowledge of routine health information systems, data visualisation, documentation, coaching and attention to detail
