State Administrative and Logistics Officer (Ogun)

About this role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a State Administrative and Logistics Officer for Ogun on a two-year renewable contract. The role involves planning and coordinating state-level logistics and administration, coordinating procurement and asset management, and supporting programme activities such as Youth Agribusiness Parks and related operations.

What you would do

• Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities including training sessions, workshops, community sensitisation events and Youth Agribusiness Park activities, covering venue, transport, accommodation and materials.
• Manage the state office administrative functions such as office supplies, filing systems, asset registers, utilities and vendor service contracts.
• Coordinate local, low-value procurement and submit consolidated procurement requests to the national Procurement Officer for items above the local threshold.
• Oversee receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of programme materials and starter kits to participants, maintaining distribution records.
• Supervise the State Driver(s), including vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking, fuel management and adherence to IITA vehicle use and safety policies.
• Support state-level HR administration (onboarding, attendance tracking, travel and welfare arrangements) and manage petty cash/imprest and expenditure retirements as required.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics / Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant administrative and logistics experience, preferably with an NGO, research institute or development programme.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good working knowledge of the state/district of assignment, including local government structures and communities; ability to travel within the state; good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organisational, planning and coordination abilities with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.
• High integrity, professionalism and commitment to delivering quality service; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
