About this role
State Administrative and Logistics Officer (Jigawa) supports IITA at state level by planning logistics for trainings and events, managing office administration and assets, and coordinating procurement and material distribution. The role also involves supervising drivers, supporting HR administration, and liaising with local government and stakeholders, while ensuring safeguarding and safety compliance. It requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2–4 years of experience, with NGO, research institute or development programme exposure preferred.
What you would do
- Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities, including training sessions, workshops and Youth Agribusiness Park events, covering venue booking, transport, accommodation, materials and equipment.
- Manage the state office’s administrative functions including office supplies, filing systems, asset registers, utilities and vendor service contracts.
- Coordinate local, low-value procurement in line with policy and approved state work plan; submit consolidated procurement requests to the national Procurement Officer for items above the local threshold.
- Manage receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of programme materials and starter kits, maintaining accurate distribution records.
- Supervise the State Driver(s) including vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking, fuel management and adherence to vehicle use and safety policies.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and security protocols are followed during all state-level activities.
