About this role
State Administrative and Logistic Officer for the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Jos, Plateau, on a 2-year renewable contract. The role covers planning and managing state-level logistics and administration for IITA programmes, including procurement, inventory, transport, and liaison with local government offices, community leaders and other local stakeholders.
What you would do
- Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities (trainings, workshops, community sensitisation events, and Youth Agribusiness Park activities), including venue booking, transport, accommodation, materials and equipment.
- Manage the state office’s administrative functions (office supplies, filing systems, asset registers, utilities and vendor service contracts).
- Coordinate local procurement within policy and submit consolidated procurement requests to the national Procurement Officer for items above local threshold.
- Manage receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of program materials and starter kits with distribution records.
- Supervise the State Driver(s), including vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking and fuel management.
- Liaise with local government offices, community leaders, facility managers and other local stakeholders on administrative and logistical matters.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics / Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant administrative and logistics experience, preferably with NGO, research institute or development programme.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good working knowledge of the state/district of assignment, including local government structures and communities.
- Strong organisational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with government officials and community leaders; willingness to travel within the state.
