Special Publications Editor
About this role
The Special Publications Editor will develop, edit and review educational manuscripts across Humanities, ensuring editorial quality and curriculum relevance, from the head office in Ibadan. It is a full-time role suited for detail-focused editors with experience in publishing and strong collaboration with sales and production teams.
What you would do
- Monitor and review market performance of published books
- Draw up illustration briefs for graphic artists and designers
- Carry out editorial work on manuscripts including copy editing and proofreading
- Provide technical insights to Sales for campaigns and product descriptions
- Brief sales representatives on new titles
- Devise editorial strategies for specific subjects and work with Production until publication
What they are asking for
- Bachelor of Arts in Humanities or Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences with minimum second class lower
- Resident in Ibadan
- Age not more than 35 years
- Thorough and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team, proactive and versatile, with at least 3 years post-qualification experience
