Sous Chef – Pool Bar
About this role
A full-time role for a Sous Chef at the Pool Bar in Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja, supporting the Chef de Cuisine to run poolside kitchen operations and deliver high-quality dining experiences for resort guests and events. Suitable for experienced culinary professionals with a background in luxury hospitality and poolside/ outdoor dining settings.
What you would do
- Oversee pool bar kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and food production for poolside dining and bar service
- Ensure kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance
- Train and mentor junior culinary staff
- Monitor food costs, waste, and purchasing requirements
- Support special events, themed nights, pool parties and weekend promotions
What they are asking for
- 5-7 years of culinary experience
- At least 2 years in a similar role (Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie) within a luxury hotel, resort, beach club or upscale dining venue
- Experience with weekend brunches, casual dining and sharing-style menus
- Experience with pool bar and outdoor dining operations
- Experience with high-volume lunch and dinner service
- Live cooking, grill stations and special events experience
