Sous Chef – Latin American Cuisine

About this role

A full-time Sous Chef to support Latin American and Nigerian fusion cuisine at ALTO Rooftop Restaurant & Bar in Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja. The role reports to the Chef de Cuisine and acts as second-in-command in the kitchen, assisting with operations, supervision, and kitchen leadership.

What you would do

• Maintain consistency in flavour, quality, portion control and presentation.
• Participate in menu development and recipe testing.
• Train, coach and develop culinary team members.
• Supervise daily food preparation and service operations.
• Lead and motivate kitchen staff during service periods.
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.

What they are asking for

• Experience with Latin American cuisine is highly desirable.
• Experience in fusion cuisine concepts is preferred.
• 2-3 years in a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie role.
• 5-7 years of culinary experience in upscale restaurants, lifestyle venues or international hotels.
• Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
