About this role

Iron Products Industries Limited in Lagos, a long‑standing steel fabrication company, is seeking a SolidWorks/AutoCAD Draftsman. The role involves preparing accurate engineering and fabrication drawings, interpreting technical specifications, generating Bills of Materials (BOM), and supporting the production and fabrication teams with detailed drawings.

What you would do

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GA, fabrication and erection drawings
• Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) from drawings
• Produce detailed workshop and fabrication drawings
• Create 3D models and assembly models using SolidWorks
• Generate 2D drawings, layouts and fabrication details using AutoCAD
• Make revisions and modifications to existing drawings as required

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, including workshop drawings, fabrication details, layouts and drawing revisions
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modelling and assembly modelling, with ability to generate fabrication drawings
• Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
• Basic knowledge of IS Codes, welding symbols and engineering tolerances
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Ability to work with engineering, production and fabrication teams and deliver drawings within specified timelines, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
