Pulse NG is hiring a Social Media Manager in Lagos to oversee Pulse.ng's social media presence, covering real-time posting, audience engagement, and performance reporting. The role suits a professional with about 2–4 years of experience in social media management or related fields who can generate ideas, coordinate with editors and events teams, and publish across platforms.
What you would do
- Monitor local and global news and trends in real time to identify fast-breaking stories for posting.
- Draft and publish timely, accurate social posts across platforms within tight turnaround windows; coordinate with the editorial desk and the Event Coverage team to verify facts and publish event content where applicable.
- Generate original content ideas and pitch formats, series, and trends; collaborate with the Storytelling and Amplification units to execute them.
- Schedule and publish paid or sponsored posts and ad creatives per brand specifications; ensure correct tagging and meet advertiser deadlines.
- Monitor comments, DMs and mentions; respond in Pulse's tone; flag trending conversations, complaints, or opportunities to the wider team.
- Track post performance across platforms and compile weekly/monthly reports with key wins, learnings, and recommendations.

- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in social media management, content creation, community management, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Twitter) and their best practices.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills; ability to translate ideas into engaging posts.
- Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics.
- Experience with content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
