Shift Engineer, Power Plant
About this role
A Shift Engineer will supervise and manage shift operations for a power plant area, ensuring efficient performance and safe handling of emergencies. The role targets individuals with a mechanical or electrical engineering background and experience in gas-based power plants, including control room duties.
What you would do
- Oversee shift operations in the assigned power plant area.
- Monitor and control equipment parameters and record operating data.
- Manage power plant control room operations and DCS control independently.
- Start up and shut down process and service units without impacting online units.
- Assist the shift manager during emergencies and handle BOP area operations.
- Prepare SOPs, maintain activity records and update parameters in the control room PC.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Power option, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years' relevant experience in a gas-based power plant, including 2 years in a control room.
- Knowledge of power plant systems and their interactions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency with office tools and SAP; familiarity with ISO standards.
