Settlement and Reconciliation Officer

What you would do

• Process daily settlements across multiple payment systems and monitor batch settlements from processors.
• Manage settlement queues across payment channels and partner networks.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank statements, ledgers, payment processor accounts and POS transactions.
• Review reconciliation exceptions and escalate to relevant partners for resolution.
• Investigate discrepancies, document issues and coordinate resolution with Finance, Operations and Compliance.
• Develop and maintain controls, document procedures and seek process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in reconciliation, settlements or financial operations in fintech, banking or financial services.
• Knowledge of reconciliation practices and financial software; understanding of payment systems is a plus.
• Strong grasp of financial principles, accounting standards and reconciliation methodologies.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros); SQL or Python familiarity is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
