Senior UX Researcher

About this role

Moniepoint, a Lagos-based financial services platform, is hiring a Senior UX Researcher to represent Nigerian users and help shape product strategy for local and regional growth across Africa. The role involves leading end-to-end research across the product lifecycle and collaborating with product managers, designers and engineers to translate findings into product decisions. The ideal candidate has substantial experience in user research for digital products with deep knowledge of Nigerian markets.

What you would do

• Lead and execute end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research across the product lifecycle.
• Apply methods including in-depth interviews, ethnography, usability testing, surveys and diary studies focused on the Nigerian context.
• Synthesize data into actionable insights and frameworks (personas, journey maps, mental models) to drive empathy and inform decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to translate business challenges into research questions.
• Act as the subject matter expert on Nigerian user needs to guide local expansion and regional growth across Africa.
• Present findings clearly to stakeholders to drive action and product improvements.

What they are asking for

• 6+ years of experience in UX or product research, ideally with digital B2C products.
• Deep experience researching Nigerian markets.
• Advanced expertise in qualitative and quantitative methodologies (co-creation, usability testing, literature reviews, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with tools like UserTesting, Maze, Typeform or similar platforms.
• Proven track record translating insights into tangible frameworks that guide business decisions.
• Experience building or engaging with active user communities in Nigeria.
