Senior Technical Safety Engineer - (Project Contract)

About this role

Senior Technical Safety Engineer on a project contract for Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, based in Lagos. The role provides technical safety and HSE support for surface production systems from design to start-up, ensures safety documentation is reviewed and compliant, and leads safety reviews and risk assessments across projects.

What you would do

• Provide technical/process safety and general HSE engineering support for surface production systems from design, testing, pre-commissioning and start-up.
• Check, review and approve process/technical safety documentation for the project.
• Interface with the contractor's process/technical safety team during the engineering phase.
• Ensure that technical/Process safety-related design is carried out in accordance with internal company standards and in line with national standards, recommended international standards and best practices.
• Undertake HAZOP/HAZID and other safety reviews to verify the safety and operability of existing and new oil and gas facilities.
• Identify process safety risks and related countermeasures across all project phases.

What they are asking for

• Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering.
• Corporate member NSE/COREN.
• NEBOSH-HS55 certification.
• Ten years of Oil & Gas industry experience, with seven years in practical Process/Technical Safety.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, HAZOP/HAZID, and safety design standards and specifications.
• Experience evaluating contractors during prequalification and technical stages and selecting safety solutions for process systems.
