Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager

About this role

Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager role with Adkan Services Nigeria Limited in Lagos. The position leads structural engineering activities and provides project management oversight across major construction and property development projects in Nigeria. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience in structural design, site engineering, construction supervision, contractor management, scheduling, cost control, quality assurance and multidisciplinary coordination on large-scale projects.

What you would do

• Lead the structural design and engineering activities for major projects, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, drawings and reports.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil and other disciplines, ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulations and standards.
• Manage projects from inception to handover, developing execution plans, programmes, milestones and coordinating all stakeholders.
• Supervise on-site construction activities, conduct regular site inspections, review concrete mix designs and reinforcement schedules, and ensure workmanship quality.
• Monitor project costs and commercial aspects with Quantity Surveyors and Finance, review variations and support value engineering and tender evaluations.
• Lead and mentor the engineering team and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, safety, timely reporting, and effective communication with senior management.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 15 years' professional experience in structural engineering and construction/project management, with a proven track record delivering large-scale projects valued at ₦500 million and above.
• Professional registration with COREN is strongly preferred; membership of NSE or a relevant professional body is advantageous.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian and international structural design standards; experience with reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Strong leadership, project management, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
