About this role
FairMoney in Abuja is hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on identity, KYC and related core systems. What you would do
- Own complex technical projects from design to deployment and maintenance
- Lead end-to-end system development for core services including payments and app APIs
- Collaborate with Product, Risk and Compliance to implement regulatory requirements
- Maintain and scale distributed backend systems for millions of customers
- Integrate AI coding assistants to improve productivity and delivery speed
- contribute to architecture, engineering standards and code reviews
- mentor other engineers and support team growth
- deliver secure and reliable software with a focus on UX and API quality
- participate in pager duty for the systems you build
- stay updated with evolving technologies and best practices

- 3+ years of backend engineering experience with system design, CI/CD and distributed systems
- Experience in Identity, KYC, fraud or authentication domains, ideally in financial services
- Go or strong backend experience with willingness to learn Go and other languages as needed
- Clear, structured written and verbal communication
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and AI-assisted development workflows
- Interest and potential to take on people leadership in the future
