About this role
Aldelano Organic Foods Ltd in Ogun seeks an experienced engineer to design, build, install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain industrial solar powered refrigeration systems, focusing on 20-foot and 40-foot ColdBox units. The role requires strong skills in mechanical refrigeration, electrical systems, solar energy, inverters, battery storage, and cost estimation, with the ability to design a complete ColdBox system from scratch. The position targets a multidisciplinary, hands-on professional capable of integrating refrigeration with solar and power systems. Immediate resumption is required. The employer operates in clean green farming and hydroponic greenhouse production.
What you would do
- Design and fabricate complete industrial refrigeration systems for ColdBox containers
- Calculate cooling loads, capacity, and system efficiency; select components
- Supervise fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning
- Design electrical distribution, wiring, control panels and protective circuits
- Compute electrical loads and energy consumption; determine starting currents
- Integrate refrigeration with solar, batteries, inverters, generators and grid power
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment and control systems
- Size solar PV systems based on energy demand and irradiation
- Develop BOMs, cost estimates and construction costs
- Lead system testing, commissioning and performance verification
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronics, Refrigeration Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years in industrial refrigeration, electrical engineering or integrated energy systems
- Proven ability to design, build and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration or cold-storage systems
- Strong knowledge of solar PV, hybrid inverters, battery systems, generators and power distribution
- Experience with cooling-load calculations and equipment sizing
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PVsyst or equivalent software
- Ability to prepare technical drawings, budgets and cost estimates
- Experience with industrial automation, PLCs and energy management systems is a plus
- COREN registration or relevant certification is an added advantage
- Ability to deliver complete design and cost estimates for a 40-foot solar-powered ColdBox
