Senior Product Manager - Processing

About this role

Paystack is hiring a Senior Product Manager for Processing. The role owns the product strategy and roadmap for payment processing, including channels and partner rails, and ensures the reliability of the processing stack across markets. It is strongly preferred that the candidate is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

What you would do

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for payment processing, including channels, partner rails, and the reliability of the processing stack.
• Expand and improve payment methods and channels available to merchants across markets (cards, bank transfers, direct debit).
• Drive improvements in transaction success rates, authorization performance, and processing latency across all supported channels.
• Manage relationships with banks, card schemes, processors, and other partners; hold them to performance standards and resolve issues causing failures.
• Prioritise new partner integrations and determine next connections; translate merchant and market needs into clear requirements for channel and partner work.
• Define and monitor processing metrics (e.g., success rate, latency, uptime) and use data to shape roadmap priorities; optimise for reliability and performance at scale.

• 6+ years of product management experience with a track record of shipping complex, technical products.
• Experience in payments, financial infrastructure, or other high-scale transactional systems is a strong asset.
• Experience working with external partners such as banks, processors, or card schemes, and ability to hold them to performance standards.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work directly with transaction data to identify problems and prioritise.
• Technical fluency; comfortable working closely with engineers on payment systems and reasoning about performance, resilience, and reliability trade-offs.
• Excellent stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and project management, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
