Senior Product Designer

About this role

Senior Product Designer for Sun King, based in Lagos or Nairobi. You will own end-to-end design for the products used by customers, field agents and staff, including the design system, with an AI-first approach. The role involves field research and collaboration across markets, with travel to Sun King markets as needed.

What you would do

• Research with field users through usability tests, contextual interviews and concept tests
• Design end-to-end journeys for sales, onboarding, collections, servicing and support, including offline steps
• Create visual designs from concept to production-ready screens with attention to typography and legibility
• Own the design system; document patterns and align with engineering; prototype before spec and test with users
• Prepare handoffs to engineering with specs and states; review releases for quality
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers and market operations, and travel to markets as required

• Portfolio of shipped product work (mandatory), with two to three in-depth cases
• 5-7 years designing digital products, with substantial mobile focus
• Experience designing for users who differ from you, ideally in emerging markets, field operations, fintech or last-mile distribution
• Ability to structure and evaluate ambiguous problems; clear written communication; able to explain design choices to non-designers
• Proactive, hands-on attitude; comfortable doing research, design and testing in small teams
• English language proficiency; local market language skills are a plus
