Senior Officer, TB Delivery Nigeria & Ethiopia Country Support (LTE)
About this role
Senior Officer, TB Delivery – Nigeria & Ethiopia Country Support is a technical role supporting national TB programmes in Nigeria and Ethiopia. The position involves engaging government counterparts, analysing programme performance, and guiding targeted TB case finding, funding efficiency, data systems, and TB–HIV integration within primary health care; based in Nigeria or Ethiopia with reporting lines to the Deputy Director in Nigeria and the Director in the UK.
What you would do
- Engage with national TB programme leadership and other stakeholders to assess needs and identify high-value support.
- Conduct country assessments on TB performance, gaps and priorities in Nigeria and Ethiopia and develop country engagement plans.
- Support expansion of TB case finding and screening tools, including Pluslife, and assess readiness for deployment.
- Analyse TB funding flows and resource use, identify efficiency gains, and assist with funding gap analyses and investment cases.
- Strengthen TB data systems, data use, and integration with surveillance and health information platforms.
- Support TB–HIV integration within primary health care and help develop guidelines and operational tools.
What they are asking for
- Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, health systems or related field.
- 8–10 years of relevant TB program implementation or health systems strengthening experience in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Direct experience with national TB programmes or Ministries of Health in Nigeria and/or Ethiopia (essential for either country).
- Knowledge of TB case finding, diagnostics, screening, and molecular diagnostic platforms relevant to high-burden settings.
- Understanding of Global Fund grant architecture and experience working with principal recipients or sub-recipients.
- Experience with health information systems and DHIS2 or similar platforms.
