Senior Narrative & Gender Analyst (Hybrid)

About this role

The role is for a Senior Narrative and Gender Analyst working in a part-time, hybrid arrangement to support GBV, gender norms and narrative analysis for AIDHealth Inc. The position targets individuals with strong experience in qualitative or gender research, especially in Northern Nigeria, and fluency in Hausa and English.

What you would do

• Develop and maintain the coding framework for tone, stance, theme, and narrative.
• Recruit, train and calibrate Hausa coders to inter-coder reliability of 0.80 or higher and resolve disagreements.
• Identify dominant and counter-narratives on GBV, early/forced marriage, and family and social norms.
• Lead narrative analysis for periodic learning reports and the final report.
• Advise on gender-responsive and trauma-informed framing in outputs.

What they are asking for

• Master's degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Communication or related field; PhD preferred.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in qualitative or gender research in Northern Nigeria.
• Proven work on GBV or early and forced marriage.
• Experience with codebook development and supervision of coding teams (NVivo, Atlas.ti or similar).
• Native Hausa speaker with fluent English.
• Preferred experience in social and behaviour change or entertainment-education programmes.
