About this role
AIDHealth Inc. is seeking a part-time Senior Narrative & Gender Analyst (hybrid) to lead gender-responsive and trauma-informed framing, manage narrative analysis, and oversee coding for qualitative research focused on GBV, early and forced marriage, and related social norms in Northern Nigeria.
What you would do
- Advise on gender-responsive and trauma-informed framing in all outputs.
- Identify dominant narratives and counter-narratives on GBV, early and forced marriage, and family and social norms.
- Recruit, train and calibrate Hausa coders to an inter-coder reliability of 0.80 or higher, and adjudicate disagreements.
- Lead narrative analysis for periodic learning and final reports.
- Develop and maintain the coding framework and project narrative register.
What they are asking for
- Master's degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Communication or related field (PhD preferred).
- At least 7 years of professional experience in qualitative or gender research in Northern Nigeria.
- Native Hausa speaker with fluent English.
- Experience with codebook development and supervision of coding teams (NVivo, Atlas.ti or similar).
- Experience with GBV or early and forced marriage work.
