About this role

Senior Medical Officer – Obstetrics and Gynaecology, based in Lagos. The role involves delivering experienced clinical care in OB/GYN across outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting consultant-led care, and supervising junior medical officers; it is suited to a doctor with substantial OB/GYN experience and at least five years post-NYSC.

What you would do

• Provide largely independent assessment, diagnosis and management of obstetrics and gynaecology patients, referring complex cases appropriately.
• Support consultant-led clinics, ward rounds and procedures.
• Supervise and support medical officers and trainees, contributing to their development.
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and patient-safety activities.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal policy.
• Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other services and supporting managed-care/HMO processes through evidence-based, cost-effective practice.

• Completion of housemanship/internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption.
