Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist
About this role
Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist role based in Ibadan, Oyo, overseeing technical operations in a diagnostic laboratory, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance and staff supervision. Open to applicants with substantial post-NYSC experience and a MLSCN-registered Medical Laboratory Science degree.
What you would do
- Ensure operation, calibration, maintenance and performance monitoring of laboratory equipment.
- Review, validate and authorise laboratory results for accuracy and timely reporting.
- Perform and supervise routine and specialized laboratory investigations within scope of competence.
- Monitor reagents and inventory to prevent disruptions and manage workflow and turnaround times.
- Maintain laboratory records, QMS procedures, and participate in quality control activities and audits.
- Provide leadership, training and supervision to laboratory staff and collaborate with management to improve service delivery.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) and MLSCN registration with current practising licence.
- Minimum five years of post-NYSC professional experience in a recognised medical diagnostic or clinical laboratory.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, SOPs, equipment management and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in supervision or technical leadership and ability to coordinate a laboratory team.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills; ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office.
