A Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant is sought by Karisa Consults Limited for their Abuja office. What you would do

• Work on special projects as required
• Update standard costs and ensure BOM accuracy
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials or methods and their cost impact
• Prepare, analyse and report monthly gross margin by customer, part number and production jobs
• Develop and maintain a cost accounting system for accurate costing
• Study data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory and labour
• Reconcile accounts of physical inventories and cycle counts
• Produce daily production, variance and ad hoc reports
• Review and analyse standard and actual costs for variances and prepare reports
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing by analysing inventory and preparing supplemental reports

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or similar
• Seven to ten years in manufacturing cost accounting experience (preferred)
• Understanding of accounting software in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and make recommendations
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Excel; experience manipulating large databases is a plus
• Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting
• Hands-on experience with accounting software
• Team player who can also work independently
