About this role
The Senior Manager, Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy role at IoD Nigeria in Abuja supports the development and delivery of the Institute's stakeholder engagement and advocacy strategies. It focuses on building and managing strategic relationships with government bodies, regulators, policymakers, industry leaders, professional bodies and other stakeholders to strengthen the Institute's influence on corporate governance and leadership. The position is aimed at someone with extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy and policy development, including several years in a senior managerial role.
What you would do
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans aligned with the Institute's mandate and priorities.
- Build, manage and sustain relationships with government institutions, regulators, policymakers, industry leaders and professional bodies.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, collaborations and institutional engagements.
- Coordinate advocacy initiatives and engagement with government officials and other decision-makers on corporate governance and leadership matters.
- Monitor policy developments and assist in producing policy briefs, position papers and other advocacy materials.
- Organise stakeholder meetings, policy dialogues, roundtables and related engagement activities; represent IoD Nigeria as required.

- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Law, Management or another relevant discipline.
- Postgraduate degree in the above or a related discipline is compulsory.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIoD, NBA, NIM, ICSAN or another relevant professional association is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, public policy or related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in a senior managerial role.
- Demonstrable experience engaging government institutions, regulators, policymakers and senior private-sector stakeholders.
