Senior Internal Control Manager

About this role

The Senior Internal Control Manager role is with an FMCG and manufacturing group in Lagos. It involves strengthening and maintaining the organisation’s internal control environment by ensuring controls, processes and governance frameworks are designed, implemented and monitored. The role supports the Head of Internal Control to drive a culture of compliance, risk management, operational efficiency and accountability.

What you would do

• Develop, implement and continuously enhance the internal control framework.
• Ensure core business processes are controlled and aligned with policies and governance standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
• Conduct risk assessments across operational, financial, compliance and strategic areas.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation plans.
• Support the Head of Internal Control in promoting compliance, risk management and governance.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, CRMA or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum of five years' experience in Internal Control, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance or Governance roles.
• Proven experience within a large FMCG or manufacturing organisation.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management principles, and corporate governance practices.
