Senior Electrical Engineer
About this role
Based in Rivers, the Senior Electrical Engineer will support the Principal Electrical Engineer and oversee electrical engineering activities across oil and gas projects and facilities, including design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and optimisation of electrical systems. The role requires deep technical expertise to act as the electrical technical authority, providing safety, technical and project leadership and ensuring compliance with Nigerian and international standards. The role may require travel to offshore platforms or remote sites.
What you would do
- Act as electrical technical authority, providing technical assurance and governance for electrical systems.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables to align with company standards and industry best practices.
- Lead electrical design for power generation, distribution, motor control and protection systems.
- Develop specifications, datasheets and drawings for electrical equipment and installations.
- Ensure designs meet IEC, IEEE, NEC and Nigerian standards (NESIS, DPR, NMDPRA) and comply with safety requirements.
- Manage electrical scope across FEED, detailed design, construction and start-up.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- NSE membership and COREN registrable.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs or onshore terminals is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, UPS and generators.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic, multi-disciplinary environment with good leadership and communication skills.
