Senior E&I Technician
About this role
Beam Energy Limited seeks a Senior E&I Technician in Lagos. The role involves coordinating with operations and subcontractors on electrical and instrumentation issues, reviewing engineering deliverables, and representing E&I interests in meetings with clients and engineering partners. The position requires frequent site visits to support installation and construction activities, supervision of vendors and subcontractors, and participation in testing, calibrations, and inspections. It also includes ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures, maintaining records for audits and handover, and supporting procurement for E&I packages. What you would do
- Interface with operations and installation subcontractors on E&I issues for project completion.
- Review E&I deliverables from engineering before client issue.
- Participate in project technical meetings with engineering and client representatives.
- Manage client interfaces on E&I scope and act as liaison between client E&I engineer and design subcontractor.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor and support E&I construction/installation activities.
- Support procurement for E&I and control packages with technical input.
- Supervise vendors and subcontractors on E&I fabrication and installation works.
- Perform insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance and functional tests; record results.
- Calibrate instruments and maintain traceable calibration records.
- Carry out loop checks, point-to-point verification, and functional testing of field devices; ensure documentation and as-built records.
What they are asking for
- B.Tech / B.Eng in Electrical/Electronics.
- Trade Test Electrical (Industrial & Domestic) grades 2 & 3 is an added advantage.
- Membership of COREN, NSE or relevant professional body is an added advantage.
- Experience with upstream, midstream or downstream facilities (flow stations, gas plants, pipelines, terminals, refineries, or offshore platforms).
- Experience with international clients and IOCs/NOCs is highly desirable.
