Amaiden Energy Nigeria is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships, tendering, and contract execution. The role focuses on ensuring cost savings and on‑time delivery of materials and services, in line with company policies, regulations and HSE standards. It involves reviewing requisitions, sourcing and prequalifying suppliers, negotiating terms, managing purchase orders, and maintaining procurement records. The position targets individuals with several years of experience in purchasing or contract administration, ideally within oil and gas. The employer provides services across outsourcing, technical staffing, inspection, procurement and related support for Nigeria’s oil and gas projects.
What you would do
- Review purchase requisitions and prepare tender packages and RFQs.
- Identify and prequalify suppliers and evaluate bids.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and contract awards.
- Manage purchase orders from issuance to delivery and payment.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update procurement systems.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery issues.
- Process purchase order amendments and claims.
- Collaborate with user departments, contract teams and vendors.
- Promote cost savings, ethical purchasing and HSE compliance.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, social sciences, supply chain management or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years' relevant experience in purchasing, procurement or contract administration (oil and gas preferred).
- Good understanding of commercial, legal, contractual and insurance matters.
- Experience with procurement systems such as SAP/UNISUP, Ariba, AGORA or NIPEX.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
