Senior Backend Engineer Core Banking

A senior backend engineer role focused on core banking systems, including designing, developing and maintaining banking services and APIs for a Lagos-based digital distribution platform. What you would do

• Design and maintain core banking services for customers, accounts, savings products, transactions, limits, holds, liens and double-entry ledgers.
• Customise and extend Apache Fineract using its extension points, modules, business events and close-of-business processes.
• Build secure, scalable REST APIs for use across digital channels and internal systems.
• Implement reliable transaction processing with controls for idempotency, concurrency and error handling.
• Integrate event-driven services using Kafka or similar messaging technologies for real-time events.
• Design and optimise database structures, queries, transactions and migrations using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
