Senior Accountant (Food and Beverage Industry)

About this role

A senior accounting role based in Lagos within a human resources consultancy that partners with organisations to deliver strategic HR solutions. The position focuses on managing financial records, reporting, reconciliations, cost control and compliance for the client’s operations. Experience in product costing, inventory management and the food and beverage or FMCG sectors is advantageous. The role reports to the Finance Manager and requires a qualified accountant with senior experience in financial reporting and internal controls.

What you would do

• Manage financial records and reporting processes
• Perform reconciliations and cost control activities
• oversee general ledger, statutory compliance, and audit coordination
• Maintain internal controls and support financial reporting requirements
• Analyse inventory, costing and taxation implications
• Prepare financial statements and reconciliations for multiple entities or sites
• Collaborate with ERP/accounting software and Excel-based processes
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Support budgeting and financial planning activities
• Assist in process improvements and financial policy development

What they are asking for

• Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in accounting and finance in a senior role
• Experience in food manufacturing, QSR, FMCG, retail or multi-branch operations is an advantage
• Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent
• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, statutory compliance, audit coordination and internal controls
• Knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory valuation and reconciliations
• Understanding of taxation, statutory compliance and audit processes
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem solving skills with attention to detail
• Effective communication and proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and MS Excel
