Senior Accountant
About this role
A Senior Accountant role in Lagos responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, payables, receivables, treasury support and strong financial controls for the company. It targets candidates with extensive accounting experience and ICAN qualification who can work with the Finance Lead and other departments to support budgeting and decision making.
What you would do
- Oversee recording of financial transactions and ensure accuracy of postings
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities
- Monitor cash position, cash flow and bank reconciliations
- Support budgeting, cost control, financial analysis and statutory compliance activities

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- ICAN qualification and membership of ICAN
- 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, taxation and statutory compliance
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, budgeting and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
