Senior Accountant
About this role
A Senior Accountant is sought by Ludo Naira in Lagos. The role focuses on financial reconciliation, transaction management, and maintaining accurate records for a real-money online board game platform. What you would do
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations across internal records, payment gateway reports and bank statements.
- Reconcile customer deposits, withdrawals, game transactions, winnings, platform commissions and settlement balances.
- Investigate discrepancies, missing transactions, failed or reversed payments, duplicate entries and settlement differences.
- Reconcile payment gateway charges and other transaction fees to match expected settlements.
- Maintain records of outstanding settlements, customer wallet balances and other financial liabilities.
- Recommend and implement suitable accounting software and establish chart of accounts and bookkeeping processes.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and cash flow reports.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
- Calculate, file and remit applicable taxes and maintain supporting documentation.
- Support audits and regulatory requirements through strong internal controls.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- ICAN, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant accounting experience with experience in reconciliation, software setup and tax compliance.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and ability to resolve financial discrepancies independently.
- Experience in online gaming, fintech, payment processing or other transaction-intensive business is a major advantage.
