Senior Account Officer
About this role
Smartcity Plc is looking for a Senior Account Officer in Lagos. The role involves financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring investment and project performance. The candidate will collaborate with Accounts, Compliance & Audit, develop financial models, and support funding decisions and cash-flow management. What you would do
- Prepare periodic financial analyses and reports highlighting performance, risks, opportunities and recommended actions
- Collaborate with Accounts, Compliance & Audit to obtain reliable financial data while maintaining role distinctions
- Provide financial insights to support funding decisions, capital deployment and investment priorities
- Develop and maintain financial models, cash-flow projections, scenario analyses and investment performance reports
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial projections and variance analyses for management decision-making
- Track financial performance of investments and projects against budgets and targets
- Monitor liquidity, forecast cash requirements and support cash-flow planning
- Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct investment appraisal and due diligence
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- Approximately 4–8 years' relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investment analysis, or treasury
- Strong knowledge of financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis and investment appraisal
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and presentation skills
- ACA, CFA or equivalent qualification (completed or in progress) is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
- Experience in real estate, investment management, infrastructure or capital-intensive industries is an advantage
- High integrity, commercial awareness, attention to detail and sound financial judgement
